View Full Version : Frustration with Sogoinvest.

So I finally decided to pull the trigger, done all the research on trading that I could with out actually doing it, and decided to start. Put aside $500, went with Sogoinvest and I was off to the races!

Everything was well for the first two weeks. Right up until July 3rd, then on July 5th things go a little pear-shaped. Apparently the half day on Tuesday and the whole day off on Wed the 4th messed with their systems. Though I'm out of my positions and actually ahead by about 15% (mostly thanks to you all). The problem is that I've been calling to find out when it's going to be back up and running properly. Every time they tell me "in a few hours". I actually talk to someone in tech support today and they tell me "It should be normal by the end of the month." End of the month? As in three weeks from now? Wow guys... Not even a word on their website about the problems at all.

So in other words I'm just venting about it. Anyone else had a problem like this before?

Hmm, in 3 weeks you could have your account migrated to e-trade or scottrade...i've also heard that zecco.com is good (free trades!) but haven't tried it myself. I'd get rid of this company-even if they get their website fixed, do they have enough people working to fill your orders fast or will that be a problem as well?

I haven't had any problems with Zecco. You get up to 10 trades a day/40 trades per month free, after that it's $3.50/trade (still cheaper than most). Scottrade has treated me well also, $7/trade and they've been quick about filling orders.

Hmm, i actually signed up for an account but didn't send in all the necessary paperwork or fund it yet..I think i'll do that pretty soon. I've heard nothing bad about zecco yet...

I actually do have a zecco account. I wanted to try it out before I commited so I only put $100 in. The only negative things I've experienced is that they don't seem to be very responsive if you have questions and it took a long time for the account approval. Other then that I haven't had any problem buying or selling. The free trades are sweet too.

I'm in the process of switching one of my accounts from fidelity ($19.95 per trade for orders under $1000, then a % for each share!!?!!#@!%^%$^) to zecco (free. all the time. booyah!). I'm attempting to do a transfer, so if what you're saying is true, i'm going to have a long wait. Oh well, i guess that means I can't sell my some of my TDCP from now until that's done. In for the long haul, i suppose...

I think part of the problem with the approval is that they didn't let me know it was actually approved. A week after signing up I hadn't heard anything back. I called and emailed and that took another week. When I was finally contacted (after a few emails and phone messages) they let me know that it was indeed approved and gave me my trading key. So it was about a two week process. However I haven't had any problems with it since joining.

thats correct..only problem with zecco is the account setup..they have a long accoutn setup process..it takes more than a week from the day u signup till u r ready to trade. also as quoted by pilgrimzero, we dont get any approval email (except a couple of confirmation emails with only confirmation number written in it)..i am not impressed by the research tools of zecco too..

however, the trading part is cool..and hasslefree..they r improving..

also..what can beat free 10 trades a day

true dat. I will be using ameritrade/e-trade for tools and zecco to actually purchase the shares. I'm cheap, what can I say ;)

Zecco is pretty bare bones but I suppose you get what you pay for. I haven't even been able to find streaming quotes on the site yet so I'm not sure they have them. You can refresh the screen but that just blows to sit there and do that. But all in all so far I'm pleased with them, just be patient with the sign-on process.
