Free movies for all at SMC

I happened to stumble across one of the best websites ever: Watch Movies For Free Here!!!! (http://www.watch-movies.net)

At this website, you can watch practically any movie, unless it is very underground. They have high quality movies that are still in theaters and some that don't get released for 2-3 months. I watched Gran Torino, Slumdog Millionaire, Changeling, Yes Man, and am starting on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. After that, maybe I will watch Valkyrie, I haven't decided yet.

Every single movie is free, there is little to no buffering/loading, and you don't even have to register an account, it is just click and play. This site finds from about 20 different sources, websites that "host" the movie. Sometimes the movie will play on YouTube, but most of the time it is from a website that you probably have never heard of. One minor setback is that if "megavideos.com" is the "host" of the movie then you can only watch 72 minutes before it pauses, and then you have to wait 1 hour before replaying from where you left off. Other than that, this website is really great, and is really a blessing to know about.

I guess there really is such a thing as a free lunch. So cancel those Netflix and other video rental accounts and enjoy! :>]

I don't want to be a kill-joy..... but be wary. Sites that have first-run movies or even movies that are not in theaters yet are definitely monitored by the MPAA, so be careful.

Another reason to be careful is there are many sites out there that offer free lunches because they know that people want free stuff. So site creators may try to install trojans/viruses onto your computer and access your personal info like passwords, bank account info and anything else they can make money off of. |-{

Get into the habit of trying to find out a bit of info about sites you visit. Doing a domain name search like the one I did at the link below will tell you where the domain is registered and other info:

Note: Websites registered in countries like the USA and the UK should be avoided, unless they are real sites like Hulu - Watch your favorites. Anytime. For free. (http://www.hulu.com) (Hulu is still available only in the USA, as far as I know).

Also, organizations around the world like the RIAA and MPAA have been known to create fake 'free' websites to try to trap people - when someone accesses their website, they get the time, day and IP address you use and they will have a record of everything you watched for free. :O

The general rule is that the more open a website is in their advertising what 'free' content they offer, the greater the risk. No matter what, there's always risk involved. |-{ :lol:
