in few days there will be the 2nd Q results, IMO should be quite good
maybe good enough to start attracting attentions of the "big Boys"

You still doing well in Delta? ....stop tempting me. LOL :D
Hi BadThad
Dal is one of my USA winners
I like to do day trading with shares that I know… it seems I get the right mo for in/out
I hold few (20.46) and I wanted to accumulate till the day of the results (I thought it was on the 28th July) instead I noticed they will announce it today….
I would have suggest you to put even few $ before the result because I am “sure” it will be good because they done well since they comeback on the market
Some banks beginning to change their minds about DAL and start to upgrade them, good sign
although I don’t follow or believe what they say (majorities of the time they say what they got interest in.. IMO ;)
have I convinced you? joking apart, DYOR and decisions
sleep well... :D
results up, I let other comment them... I am one sided so wouldn't be fair
otherwise I will sound like a ramper!!! :D
Net income for the June 2007 quarter was $1.8 billion, or $4.49 per share based on 393.8 million diluted shares outstanding. Excluding the reorganization and related items described below, net income was $274 million or $0.70 per share.
Delta (up $0.00 to $21.19, Charts, Fortune 500), the No. 3 U.S. carrier, which emerged from Chapter 11 at the end of April, said second-quarter net profit jumped to $1.77 billion, or $4.49 per share, compared with a loss of $2.2 billion a year ago, when the company's shares were unlisted.

I did some DAL's shopping .... :)
open at 21.29 + 21.31 + 21.22
what I find a bit unfair in the USA market, it is that many shares open above the day before closing!!!
maybe you know a short cut? :D
hello
here is someone who likes the DAL's results ;)
Delta's Revenue Tops Estimates
By Ted Reed
TheStreet.com Staff Reporter

Delta (DAL - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) said a strong international performance, high demand and cost reductions in bankruptcy enabled it to post a solid profit in its first quarter after emerging from Chapter 11.
The Atlanta-based carrier said net income, excluding reorganization and related items, was $274 million, or 70 cents a share. Analysts had estimated
earnings of 59 cents. Revenue rose 5.5% to $5 billion, exceeding expectations of $4.8 billion. Pretax income was $373 million

earlier I wanted to close and take profit at least a 50% of my holding (1500)
but put few SL and decided to let all run.... :( :D:cool:
good morning
I notice near the close they retrace a bit (profit taking + end of news?),
but enough to get 2 of my SL
21.66 (made +44cnts) and 21.62 (+33cnts)
still a profit ($700+) it is always welcome :p
I could buy them cheaper!!!!! ;)
and let my other 500 run
I posted my Dal’s trade on the “daily trade discussion” (forgot about here):o
If anyone follow DAL IMO stay put, because if they brake the 21 could retrace to 20.50/60 (next few t/days)
Let see what they close at …
at the mo look likes “they” want to keep it above 21!!!! good sign ;)
have a nice w/e :)
here is some info

DAL @ 52 yr low today. Closed down 17%. There is an article citing that the shares went way down due to the merger between delta and northwest. If anybody wants to try and play it, I wonder if we'll see a rebound tomorrow.
Delta's stock-swap deal to acquire Northwest, if approved by regulators and shareholders, would create the world's biggest carrier. But shares of both airlines are down sharply since the deal was announced late on April 14, and the deal has lost $1.17 billion, or about 32 percent, of its value. At midday Tuesday the offer was worth $2.46 billion, or $8.90 per Northwest share, a premium of 14.8 percent.
Shares of Atlanta-based Delta fell $1.40, or 17 percent, to close at $6.80 Tuesday after hitting a new low of $6.70 earlier in the session, while Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest dropped $1.59, or 17.6 percent, to $7.67 after hitting a fresh low of $7.22.
CP thanks for the info….
DAL is the only USA airline that is on my w/list… I had a bid hope (and quite a lot money) when it come back on the market…. but then it began to straggle due to petrol etc…(disinvested with a los) I play more on a daily trading between short and long I not only recuperated my loses but I am well in profit….
Yes I will follow but only on a day basic IMO too dangerous for long involvement specially with the petrol still going up…
but a rebound it is on the way IMO..... the point is when?:)
forgot to add that today is QI results...
maybe the market already know them and penalized DAL yesterday... just a thought '-)

Could be a response to the CEO saying fares are going to rise 15-20%. Or it could be the randomness of the markets taking time out of the day to destroy anybody trying to take a position based on logic.

As I have said it before DAL is one I follow (w/list) daily…. and either short or long there is money to be made but IMO not to be too greedy….. otherwise the profit go as quick as is coming…..
Just seen this post but IMHO listen/read other opinions but always do what you think is the best….. rectify the error and increase the profit….. no one got a crystal ball… '-)
Good trading :)

DAL is making an inverted head and shoulders pattern. There is a good chance DAL will move up out of this pattern.
