I would love to take the credit for this but I saw this one moving and looked at the chart. The chart looked like once it broke resistance there was nothing to keep it from going to the teens. Then I got a bonus and a huge announcement was made. So I never saw it going this high but did like the set up.

Hopefully it broke resistance and drew attention to the announcement.

I wish it did but it don't. The odds are it will never see 3.00 but its possible. If you want to hold some I would suggest taking some profit off the table and ride with whatever you are comfortable with. Keep in mind the 52 week high is only .28

BTW.... This is not a pinkie folks so that should make us all breathe easier.

It shows bid and ask. You can gauge which way it may go by the number on bid and ask at different levels.
Example: if you have 4 on bid @ .12 and 1 on ask @ 13 and another 1 @ .14 odds are its going to move up.

Right now we have bid = 1 @ 13 next is 1 @ .125..... ask 1 @ 135 and next is 2 @ 14

There was no news today. The news of the Canyon River sale was released July 16th making it 2 weeks old. They filed an 8-K late today but it was only affirming the news released on the 16th. This could have been a group play but I checked a couple of sites and it was not listed as one of their picks.

I jumped in this morning because of the chart only. I didn't know anything about the company. The only thing I knew was it was coming off the bottom and moving nicely. I bought in @ .02 and .024 thinking if it could break 03 or 032 it had a great chance of moving huge. There was little to no resistance between there and the teens. Check out the chart on my first post and you will see what I'm referring to.

Again I wouldn't have known what to look for if it wasn't for Greencats cd.

Don't hold me to this but I think you will go green in the morning. This will draw alot of attention tonight and if they check the news story from 2 weeks ago they will see a property bringing 100 million to a stock with a float said to be around 32 million. Simple math says this is still cheap.

I'm not looking to turn into a long here but I think the morning will be good and you might escape with a profit.

so limit .165 or so to break even. i got in to late. my fault on that one. i just want to get out with a slight loss not really worried about making money right now on this one. i screwed up and just want to recoup some of my losses and move on. we are at .13 now do you think we will get enough of a bump to .165 or should i set a sell limit at say .15 won't be in the office tomorrow. so i am going to have to do this blind in the morning. knowing my luck i wil set a sell limit at .16 and it will go to 2.00 tomorrow.

I would be interested to know where you found that info. I wouldn't think that would be that case but stranger things have happen. I read some this afternoon and the only thing I seen that raised questions is if this was their last property.

A friend of mine at work that trades mostly blue chip, got it off his broker site. It was from an information site off his brokers web page. I read it also. Has other information on the float, 100mil offer.list of the investment firm out of New York that holds most shares etc. I will try to find out the site tomorrow. Just beware in-case. A little profit or loss is better then a big black hole.:confused:

American Skiing to dissolve

Jun 22, 2007 (The Salt Lake Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Having unloaded seven of its eight resorts in recent months, Park City-based American Skiing Co. announced Thursday that it is shedding its corporate skin as well.
Technically, American Skiing Co. is dissolving as a corporate entity. Its remaining assets, principally The Canyons Resort outside of Park City, will become the property of Oak Hill Capital Partners, a private equity firm that was American Skiing's majority shareholder.

Visitors to The Canyons next winter should not see anything different about the resort operations than they have in the past, vowed a pair of American Skiing executives, David Hirasawa and Chip Carey.

"The resort will continue operating as normal," said Hirasawa, American Skiing's financial analyst and investment relations manager. "All the plans we've been working on are moving ahead. We will invest in the resort at a high level. Plans for the golf course are still in process. There's no end to any of the exciting changes going on at the resort."

Added Carey, the company's senior vice president of marketing and sales: "We really think this is good for The Canyons and its long-term success. The Canyons is a growth resort. It's had a huge history since 1997 when we came in. ... The more we invest in it, the greater the value of the resort is going to be."

Their positive view of the legal maneuver, revealed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, was shared by Ski Utah President Nathan Rafferty.

"I'm pleased to see that they'll be focusing all of their efforts on one resort," he said. "The Canyons has always been their crown jewel with plenty of untapped potential, including solid leadership and a strong sales/marketing team. It should be good for Utah locals and destination visitors alike."

A union official who represented unionized ski patrollers in their contract negotiations with the company last winter said he did not expect the ownership transfer "to have any real effect. I don't foresee any differences," said Lew Ellingson of the Communications Workers of America.

The SEC documents said company directors made the decision to dissolve American Skiing on June 6. Two days earlier, American Skiing sold its last two resorts in the Northeast -- Sunday River and Sugarloaf in Maine -- to Boyne Corp., which operates Brighton Resort, for $77 million in cash and the assumption of $2 million in debts.

That left American Skiing with an obligation of $404 million to Capital Hill, due July 31. But since "the company's available cash and the value of its remaining assets will not be sufficient" to pay that obligation, directors decided dissolution was the best option.

The SEC filing said common stockholders and Class A common stockholders, who together hold 31.6 million shares, are unlikely to receive any financial distributions on their stock and may be liable to creditors.

Formal dissolution will take place in about three weeks, the document said. At that time, American Skiing no longer will be a publicly traded company and no further reports will be filed with the SEC. Some layoffs are expected at American Skiing's corporate offices in Park City.

Oak Hill Partners has "representative" investments in 37 companies whose interests include financial services, health care, telecommunications, technology and consumer, retail and distribution companies. TravelCenters of America and Bell + Howell are two of the better-known companies.

The dissolution agreement gives Oak Hill Partners the opportunity to sell the resort, but Carey insisted "that's not a foregone conclusion . . . and it could take up to three years to dissolve the company."

One of the uncertainties that remains is a lawsuit being fought against Wolf Mountain, former owner of The Canyons Resort, which claims American Skiing was delinquent on payments and should lose The Canyons.

That case is scheduled to go to trial next spring. Hirasawa said "we are still very focused on the successful completion of that litigation."

Thanks..... As Razorback has said there should be some law covering this type of BS. The news was stashed away on pinksheets.com. I didn't find it on any other major source.

If you are down you might watch to see if it goes any higher. I would be out before the end of today. Keep in mind the news was released June 18 or 20 and they stated somewhere it should take about 3 week to disolve the company so they are already behind. I'm not sure but I think the last property sold is all their property.
