In addition, it offers Rapid Reader, a compact and portable device that captures a picture of the test results on an ABMC drug screen. Further, American Bio distributes various POCTs to detect the presence or absence of adulterants, alcohol, and nicotine; and provides bulk strip contract manufacturing services to non-affiliated POCT diagnostic companies. It offers products for employers, law enforcement, government, health care, laboratory, and education professionals to test for cocaine, THC, opiates, amphetamines, PCP, benzodiazepines, methamphetamines, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, methadone, oxycodone, propoxyphene, and buprenorphine. The company was formerly known as American Micro Media, Inc and changed its name to American Bio Medica Corporation in September 1992. The company was founded in 1986 and is based in Kinderhook, New York.

I bought into this stock back in the spring, on the simple thought that as long as the world lasts, there is going to be a big need for drug-testing kits!

ABMC Receives Nasdaq Delisting Notice

American Bio Medica Corporation (NASDAQ: ABMC) announced today that, on August 25, 2009, it received a delisting notice from the NASDAQ Stock Market, for failure to regain compliance with the minimum bid price requirement pursuant to Listing Rule 5550(a)(2).

The Company can request a hearing to appeal NASDAQ’s determination by 4:00 p.m. (ET) on September 1, 2009, however, if the Company does not request a hearing, trading of the Company’s common stock will be suspended at the opening of business on September 3, 2009, and a Form 25-NSE will be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), which will remove the Company’s securities from listing and registration on the NASDAQ Capital Market.

Although the Company meets all other continued listing requirements to maintain its position on the NASDAQ Capital Market, the Company does not currently expect to challenge the delisting. Based upon discussions with several market makers, the Company believes that a market maker will make an application to the OTC Bulletin Board, and its common stock will be eligible for listing on the OTC Bulletin Board following its delisting from the Nasdaq Capital Market.

Wow, I was eyeing that pretty little cup pattern developing last week. Glad I didn't jump in too soon. Arrgh, never know what's gonna happen with these stocks.

I`m glad for you. They may have to climb out of this before they go any further.

But then again, from what I read, a lot of penny stocks do the same... and they come out of it with flying colors

That's true. Once the dust settles and this is old news, it'll start trading up again. It's just a minimum bid price issue. Like the note said, they meet all other requirements. People that bought high just before it delisted will just have to be patient.
