I wouldn't get too excited about this cut. A. It smells like central banker panic (never a god thing). B. We have been at an effective rate of one and a half for the last couple weeks as Bernanke had lost hold of monetary policy. Expect further easing on our spiral down to zero. | Indeed....I'm not falling for it. I saw a "suckers rally" this morning, only to be followed by another drop. I think the DOW will end again today in the red, I'm sitting firmly on my pile 'o cash.

Do those people have any inkling as to what they are doing?
Good Luck

Good Luck | Of course they do...after all, they're academics.
I found a game that Big Ben has been putting together in the middle of the night while sleepytime has been a bit scarce. WallStreetPong

| | Treasury warming up the TARP bullpen....
....so that they are fully prepared to over pay for toxic assets when the time comes. What the hell is going on here? Is the treasury that desperate?
I feel so very comfortable that the treasury is spending my money wisely.

Another suckers rally today.....arrrrgggg...looks like the DOW will finish -200ish. Man, I hope none of our members are getting burned. It's soooooo tempting to jump back in when you see the DOW going up 150 pts....must resist, must resist!

I think there will be PLENTY of time to get in once a real bottom is formed. Think U-shaped becuase a V-shaped bottom is about as likely of an event to happen as the gov't (tax payer) making a profit during this TARP program.
