| | Re: What broker do you use & why? TD (Waterhouse) and Ameritrade are one in the same, called TD Ameritrade or TDA now.
Anyhow, I only have experience with TDW and TDA so I have to vote for them. LOL I've been real happy with the TDA website, it's much better now they've combined with TDW. Great tools, $9.99 trades and superfast "at market" trades of 5 seconds or less.

talking about banks
I pay $20 x deal commission (18$ after 300trades)
real time NYSE and Nasdaq with L1 +10€ x month
using a platform with charts news, books, etc... €55 x month (free if I do 400 trades x month that include all markets)
no charges in keeping the accounts but give me a 2.5% interst on any money left on it
free "spread" if closing the same day at 1:4 in USA and up
to 1:10 in Milan
what those banks give you? or how much will cost a real time L2?

and to answer your question - we have 3 types of trading accounts in the country... cash - marginal - day trader.... i do not have l2 as of yet and work with real-time charts.... however, with etrade the day trader account gives you l2 for free but i believe you have to pay an extra $30 for it with other accounts that is if you do not do a certain number of trades per month.. commission fees vary with each type of account.. pretty sure cash accounts still have a service charge of $40. per quarter if you do less than 4 trades for that quarter...
best thing to do is check out one of the broker sites to see what we have and what the commission rates and service charges are... can check www.etrade.com and also do a search for other ones listed above to get their rates.. and yes, believe with all major brokers in the usa that you can trade on all exchanges but if wrong, can someone please correct me... |

| | Re: Broker Poll I started with tdamer and have been pretty happy with them. $9.99 trades and they give you 45 free when you start a new account with $2k. Before the end of the 90 days, I qualified for Apex which gives you free L2s and news. I paid $9.99 for live L2s in the first month.
I recently opened an account with zecco and their 40 free trades a month...no minimum. I found at tdamer I was a low maintenance kind of customer and zecco is a low support kind of broker. They don't have any tools like last sale and L2s so I use my tdamer for them but so far, I've been happy with zecco's performance. |

Now to serious business
Yes I have already done some researches in USA for bank/broker, but to get a new customer they NEVER answer questions…. Some want to register (to open an account!!) without clarify cost etc….
(I might be green but In’t a cabbage) LOL
USA Etrade sent me their contact in Italy, I am waiting some reply to my questions from them…
this is an e-mail I received (yesterday) from Ameritrade Quote: |
TD AMERITRADE is currently unable to open new accounts for clients with mailing and/or physical addresses in Italy. This is a result of a thorough legal review of established regulations in your country
| Bull S***** here the Gov. let me open an acc in USA if I adhere all the USA rules and regulations....
as you can see I have been busy but I feel like a dog that bite his tail... getting nowhere
