Default Sirf

Sirf is coming out of a bottom pretty well. Today touched above then closed up at resistance at $24.32 on decent volume. Sto shows might retrace down some but indicators look positive. MACD is up and trending, CMF moving up on increased buying pressure close to crossing zero, OBV good. 10dma already crossed 50 and 20 getting close.
It gapped up back at the end of Janurary then filled the gap late April on the downtrend.
Sirf just recently bought Centrality Communications and predicts the purchase will reap some good profits early 2008.
2nd Qtr report is due out July 31st. Analyst expect to reach target of $34.50 by December.

It has taken a beating in the market and the Page Ranking put out by some analyst hasn't been great lately, but the chart looks interesting to me.

Friday ended with a Bullish harami. Could be the bottom setting up for a reversal. Sto is oversold and curling up below 20. MACD may start inching back up to the moneymaker. We'll see what happens.

Sirf is estimated by many sources to maintain as much as 90% of the market for the microchips used in portable GPS devices, but new competition is seen as putting some pressure on Sirf. Couple weeks ago Banc of America Securities analyst Sumit Dhanda, who started his coverage of Sirf with a neutral rating and a $22 a share price target. Dhanda called Sirf "a dominant supplier" of GPS chips for the portable navigation device (PND) market, and stands to benefit from that sector unit growth prospects, which Dhanda said should rise between 60% and 70% a year by 2008. Dhanda added that more GPS opportunities exist as the technology becomes embedded in more cell phones and notebook PCs. However, Dhanda said those opportunities are likely to be countered by an erosion in Sirf's market share due to increased competition next year.

Moved it for ya. lol. Looking pretty good, LM. Haramis don't carry the highest level of reliability, but still looking for confirmation on Tues.

Thanks Klipper! I agree, we need a confirmation candle Tues. Hoping the sto and MACD setup are a good sign.

Sirf has worked it's way up to and tested the 50ma today at $20. Looking to see if it breaks the 50ma and runs some more. Volume good so far. If it doesn't break , it may retrace to possibly form a head & shoulders bottom- like scenerio provided it holds above $17.

This Stock went down about 54% a few days ago and hit a low of 6.90 today and now its up to 7.36. Im hoping this will bounce to at least 8.00. I think its a excellent long term play so I might leave some shares in this.
