Asian markets mostly down on weak China data
Asian stock markets were mixed in early trading today led by financial companies on speculation bank regulations will be tightened and as China reported slower growth.
Hang Seng index in Hong Kong is trading down by 16.71 points or 0.07% at 23539.79, South Korea's Kospi reduced by 0.08% or 1.49 points to 1868.95 and China’s benchmark Shanghai index decline by 1.30% or 38.98 points to trade at 2964.97. Conversely, Taiwan index is higher by 14.48 points or 0.18% at 8139.10
Shares dropped as data from China’s statistics bureau reported that the country’s economy expanded 9.6% in the third quarter, the slowest pace from the same period a year earlier.
