I only had enough money left to buy 100 shares but I jumped in @ 10.00 just to play the momo after todays PR below. I will find the share structure and add to this post.

This is a highly speculative China play in the Agribusiness sector. Its financials stink, its management is mediocre at best and its sector niche has a hard row to hoe convincing Chinese farmers to try its products. It is making inroads and has the potential to become a player, but it aint there yet. The companies expenses are out of control and need someone to take a more streamlined approach in their corporate structure. Origin is a controling middleman for what basically are state run vendors. Socialist vendors are notoriously inefficient.

That said, traders will run this stock 20-30% on percieved good news. If you choose to play, keep in mind how short traders attention spans are. It comes down just as fast. Until fundamental changes occur in the corporate structure and business efficiencies are in control over political expediency, this one is NOT investment grade.

Very low float, only 13.9 million. Crappy, crappy company.....I don't know how they could be doing to poorly in this booming sector. Revenue nearly doubled the past 2 years compared to 2004-2005, but cash from ops keeps dropping.....their spending is out of control.

A risky play, but it could easily payoff as with that float it won't take much for it post serious gains.

a leading technology-focused supplier of crop seeds and agri-biotech research in China, today announced it has received the Bio-safety Certificate from the Ministry of Agriculture as a final approval for commercial approval of the world’s first genetically modified phytase corn. Origin’s phytase corn is the first transgenic corn to officially introduce the next generation of corn product approved and sold commercially into the domestic marketplace.



Genetically modified seed products in China must undergo five separate stages of approval beginning with a phase one laboratory approval to the final receipt of the Bio-safety Certificate in phase five. Currently, this GM seed approval process is restricted only to domestic seed producers such as Origin Agritech.

My opinion, great company, but I hate chasing a stock. This stock has seriously run up lately which is a red flag in my trading books. Wait for a pull back or forget it at this point IMO.
