Xerox Declares First Quarterly Dividend in Six Years (Update3)
By Andrew Noel and Courtney Dentch
Nov. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Xerox Corp., the world's largest maker of high-speed color printers, will reinstate quarterly dividends for the first time since 2001 after boosting cash flow.
Shareholders as of Dec. 31 will get 4.25 cents a share, payable Jan. 31, the Stamford, Connecticut-based company said in a statement today. It's the company's first dividend since April 2001, when it paid 5 cents a share.
Chief Executive Officer Anne Mulcahy is raising revenue by adding color products that print, copy, scan and fax. Color pages are five times more profitable than black-and-white, and Xerox expects more than 40 billion color pages will be printed this year. Xerox boosted operating cash flow to $1.5 billion this year, and said it will increase to $1.6 billion in 2008.
``Our balance sheet is unrecognizable from a couple of years ago,'' Mulcahy said at an investor conference in New York today. ``We are able to more than adequately fund our business now and in the future.''
The company has introduced 18 color devices this year. Separately, Xerox said 2008 profit will be $1.31 to $1.35 a share, compared with the $1.31 average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
The company reiterated its 2007 projection of $1.18 to $1.20 a share. Analysts project $1.19 a share this year. The company will hold its annual investor conference in New York today.
Xerox rose 36 cents to $16.18 at 9:52 a.m. a.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. The stock has lost 4.5 percent this year.

Re: XRX - Xerox Corp (declares $4.25 EX 31DEC2007)
So let me get this right...
If I were to buy around 5k worth of xerox stock and keep it till Jan. 31 that I would get 4.25/share dividend?
And then I could sell it off?

Yes, the dividend is $4.25 per share. Actually, you can just buy the stock 3 days before the EX date and you'll get the divy. You don't have to keep it until Jan 31, you only need to keep it through Dec. 31.

Re: XRX - Xerox Corp (declares $4.25 EX 31DEC2007)
Hi badThat
as I was looking for different news/info this came under my nose...
Quote:
Xerox Corporation’s (NYSE: XRX) board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend on Xerox common stock. The dividend of $0.0425 per common share is the first in more than six years.
“With our return to investment grade, strong cash generation and effective business model, we’ve significantly strengthened our financial position, providing flexibility for investing in our business and delivering shareholder returns,” said Anne M. Mulcahy, Xerox chairman and chief executive officer. “Declaring a dividend and our continued share repurchase initiatives reflect the health of our business and our belief in the long-term value we’re creating for Xerox shareholders.”

XRX IMO headed for a cup pattern. Today was an initial buy point in my system. Longer term hold.
