I like this feature on Google, even though it's not always the top losers across the board, it's still good. I'm going to post the losers on occassion and along with my quick DD on the company. I don't care about the top gainers, IMO, those stocks are usually played out and I HATE to buy high on speculation. I think it's always better to play the bottoms, if you hit it, chances are it's only going to go up.

Personnally, I have a general guideline for bottom plays: If it drops below my buy by about $200-300, I'm out with a loss and continue watching for a bottom. I never keep riding down because it's quite painful and I do miss the bottom often.....as any trader knows, losing is part of the game. When the true bottom then comes, I'm back in mindful that I have to make-up that loss. That often means forgetting my 10% profit rule (that's what I shoot for) and going for 5%.

Today's Loser:

Down about 23% or $6.09, current price: $21.41
ULTA

Appears to be an overreaction by investors to the earnings report. It was a good report, but apparently investors expected more. I like this play because it's a good company, they are financially sound and the future is bright. It gets my recommendation.

ULTA won the day finishing down $6.59 (24%)! I'm watching this for an entry tomorrow or Thursday.

They are trying to sell themselves and nobody is interested, management is a mess and product line is running out. YUCK!

I like today's top loser. This is a SOLID company. Down $14 a share today! We already have a DRYS thead:

IMO, this drop is a bit of an over-reaction. While the company will assume additional debt, they will also assume some additional revenue....in the long run, this is a good move for DRYS. This one gets my unconditional BUY for the week.

Today's #2 loser is one of my favorite companies, even though it has a sorted PPS history:

VSE dropped almost 10% today.

I'm still bullish on ethanol. While corn-based ethanol has had it's share of criticism, it's still the best short-term solution we have to reducing imported oil. E85 is just at it's beginnings, I stand by my predicition that we will soon seen E85 pumps at every gas station. VSE has also made investments in cellulose based ethanol development, this is the real future of ethanol and it's getting closer to mass production reality by the day.

My personal belief is that Algae conversion will be the real future of ethanol.... it still has some research needing to be done to solve several problems... but its potential is phenomenal.

Could be, but for the immediate future, corn and cellulose will rule the day I think.

Today's biggest loser is CFC! Imagine that? LOL

My take: I still like CFC even though they are being hurt by the subprime woes. I think it's going to be a fantastic bottom play and I plan on getting in at some point. Obviously, I'm not in a hurry because I think the financials PPS will be hurting for at least 6-12 more months. KEEP AN EYE OPEN FOR THE BOTTOM WITH CFC! They will survive and the PPS will recover IMO.
