The Indian markets taking cues from its global peers continued with its run and closing in green for the third consecutive days. The Sensex breached the 18000 mark during the trading session paring some gains from that point to close on a positive note. The main contributors for today’s gain are the Realty index gaining more than two percentage points followed by the Banking and IT indices gaining more than one percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 103.66 points or 0.58 percentage points to close at 17,937.20. Nifty ends the day at 5383 gaining 30.55 points or 0.57 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,567 advances against 1,320 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks fluctuated between gains and losses as investors waited for Alcoa Inc., the largest American aluminum producer, to unofficially kick off the U.S. earnings season. Asian shares and U.S. index futures declined.
