Default My Short List of big Divided Yielders

My first post I'm dropping in my list of big yielders....mind you I trade these CEF's very actively:

BGT
EFL
EFT
PHD
PSY
PFO
PPR

Always mindful of ex-dividend dates, dips and peaks, I have been doing pretty good with these. They got hammered pretty hard in the middle of the credit flight from anything perceived to have mortgage related junk (which they don't have), so I backed up the truck.

Excellent, nice list! I'm going to do some DD and watch these. As you can probably tell, I'm a divy lover!

BGT - 9.26%
EFL - 8.85%
EFT - 9.13%
PHD - 10.73%
PSY - 8.24%
PFO - 8.03%
PPR - 8.99%

Which of these are your favorite? Which one do you think is the best buy in today's market?

I'm buying some PHD to hold, just went after the highest yield and it looks like the price is massively down.....nice bottom play.

Thanks again and welcome to SMC! I hope you spend time in the divy forum and make some posts. :D

Cool - thanks for posting the recent yields. I try not to love any of them too much, but they've all made me money. The floating rate ones are very similar and tend to behave similarly - PHD as well . I like the international one - EFL is at a nice discount and interesting is PSY with a huge discount but some real junk.

It was tough staying out of them as they dove, but they seem ready to climb again. We'll see.

Well, I'm up already on PHD, bought at 16.18 and today it's at 16.31! Finally, I timed one right with this bear market. LOL

Thanks again! :D

16.38 right now - what a crazy market - HUGE gyrations....at this point my gut can handle anything. I jumped on TMA at $7.85

Yea, it's a tough market but there's some serious bargains to be had. When the market comes back, my portfolio will ROCK.

I agree. As many nasty days as we've had - I've been relatively well situated, and when those bad days come I scoop up good funds and companies. Plus I still have some cash.......looking for the spot to go ALL IN.

A Chartist may say we aren't anywhere near bouncing along the bottom, however it seems like there is only piece of thin paper between the bull and the market....if you know what I mean. Looking for an "excuse" to rally......now for that good news.:D

I couldn't agree more, you and I are thinking the same. I too have a nice cash position that I'm itching to spend. Actually, I already bought a few nice bottom plays recently, but I'm still looking for that "pie in the sky" play. Now that Bank of America rained on my CFC parade, I need to find another to focus on. CFC was my "all in" play.

It's just a matter of time before the raging bull returns. Based on how bad this bear has been, I suspect it's going to be an extremely strong bull. Look out Put holders! LMAO

In general this group has been holding up against the sagging market. PFO and BGT were up nicely today. EFL, etc yesterday. If these were in "normal" mutual funds this last week+ I would be taking a beating.
