Default Concept ETF's

What kind of wild "concept" ETF's do you guys like?

I jumped into DGS and IRO this week. Frankly because I like the ideas. These guys have some wacky ETF's: http://www.claymoresecurities.com/

The problem to me is not so much the ideas, but that these are thinnly traded. I buy them for the long haul.

I'm not in any EFT's, but I probably should dedicate some of my money to one. It's a good idea for long term stability, but I've not seen any mind blowing returns....which is why I prefer doing my own stock picking. While being diverse is mostly good, it also mostly limits your returns. hehehehe

You make a great point....actually a few great points.

Some ETF's are fairly new to have much of a record. But some funds have done quite well for themselves.

My personal issue is that I work two jobs, sponsor a bevy of web boards, have a family and life (sort of).....man I don't have time for research and due deligence for my entire nest egg. So I trust some other weasel by buying into (low cost) funds.....

Point of this thread is if you know a sector will be good, don't buy the whole sector, just buy the 2-3 winners in the sector

I understand that completely. Actually, I gave up quite a few "hobbies" so I could focus more on the market. My plate is very full, pretty much the same deal as you. Sometimes, somethings just gotta go away because I made $$$ the priority about 6-9 months ago. :D For me that was mainly gaming and computer hardware, I do miss them, but $$$ is more important as I get older and I want to retire early. I figure I'll do like my father did, retire from a 9-5 job and just play the market. :D

What's a hobby? Oh yeah playing the market.

On a serious note, some ETF's could be looking pretty juicy real soon. I like the
rotating sector type, or I guess my old favorites the high yielders.

DGS got beat up real bad today, IRO was unchanged. Soon I may jump on DGS with more gusto.
