Default ameritrade & margin trading

i have an ameritrade account, and see if i sell my stock its like a few days before the money becomes availible so i can trade

if i switch to margin will that change? i know i can trade on credit, but ok say i sell 10 grand in stock on monday, could i think an hour later buy another 10 without having to pay interest? thats what im wondering i mean if i sold the stock i want my money instantly so i can use it

you can sell and buy a different one worth the total amount of YOUR cash balance without interest. anything over would be interest. with my account ST buying one and selling the same one on the same day will get me in trouble even with margin. but they say I can do it up to 3 times a week.

the margin is them giving you an amount of money to use while your funds are settling. so long as you dont spend more than you have, you are good to go. hope that helps

Same thing happened to me when I first opened my acct. Now, after a few trades have been done, my money is available immediately after the sale. Not sure what changed but it did and Im happy.
