LMAO.

Am I wrong in thinking melting currency is illegal?

Not that that has mattered in anythng else that happens in this day and age.

Still very funny.

// next up, the mint introduces new wooden nickels. Wood, since you know, plastic and any kind of metal is valuable and we won't be needing wood with no homes to build. As an added bonus they'll float when 'global warming' floods the coasts.

lol...yeah it is, at least in my state

One could always make their own homemade smelter... but I'd never advocate for something like that. We're just collecting them for fun...who knows ...ebay? 5000 for $7.50? Wait a sec....what's a USD worth!?!? Grizz <-- pulling his hair out..!!

As a former coin collector. You may sell yourself short on some of these.

I had a 1909 VDB in decent condition at one time. I just can't figure where I put my collection at.

The idea while worthy may have a problem under federal law.

Quote:
Section 333. Mutilation of national bank obligations

Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or
unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank
bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national
banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal
Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note,
or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined
under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.
Now what they do here in Baltimore is steal any kind of Copper wire, downspouts, or pipes. They would go into new home sites and rip out the newly installed pipe. It is causing problems here.

They were stealing aluminum light poles, light control boxes and awnings. They are paying .70/ lbs for beer cans here. Dopers are big business for the scrapers. They are even stealing beer kegs but most recyclers will not take them now.
