Could someone please tell me what stock distribution is, and how it is different than dividends?

Stock distributions are stock offerings that sold over an extended period of time. This is in contrast to selling the shares of stock in a single transaction.
A stock dividend does not involve cash. Rather, it is the distribution of more shares of the corporation's stock.
