AGCO Corporation revised its fiscal 2009 guidance expects earnings per share (EPS) in a range from $1.30 to $1.50, and net sales to decline 23% to 25% as compared to fiscal 2008. The Company reported revenue of $8.4 billion in fiscal 2008. For the third quarter of 2009, it expects sales are expected to be approximately 30% to 35% below third quarter of 2008 levels, and net income per share is now expected to be at or slightly below breakeven levels. Adjusted earnings per share is calculated by excluding restructuring and other infrequent expenses. In 2009, the Company expects total restructuring and other infrequent expenses to be approximately $0.07 per share. The Company reported revenue of $2.1 billion in third quarter of 2008. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts are expecting the Company to report EPS of $2.06 on revenues of $6.74 billion for fiscal 2009; EPS of $0.43 on revenues of $1.55 billion for third quarter of 2009.

Big drop in stock, possible bounce play once the bottom hits.

AGCO cuts guidance for Q3 and full-year '09 on lower than expected demand in its European operations. It now sees breakeven EPS to slight loss in Q3, and $1.30 to $1.50 EPS for full-year. We view AGCO's softer than expected current trends as disappointing, but still think a likely improvement in global economies will allow its business to bottom in the coming year. We cut our '09 EPS forecast by $0.70 to $1.40, and '10's by $0.40 to $2.00. Our target price stays $38, 19X '10 estimate, with premium to S&P MidCap 400 reflecting our view of business stabilization at AGCO.

Significant EOD buying, stock closed at $29.45.

I think I'll hold this one for a bit, it's a very solid company. Too bad it doesn't pay dividends.
