Indian markets pare losses to end flat
Indian benchmarks pared its losses to end flat, following profit booking and negative global cues. The BSE benchmark ended at 20104.86, reduced by 12.52 points or 0.06% and NSE Nifty decreased by 6.15 points or 0.10% to end at 6029.50.
In the 30-share index DLF (1.71%), NTPC (1.63%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.57%), Rcom (1.21%) and Jindal Steel (0.99%) are the top five gainers. On the other hand HDFC (2.57%), Hindalco (2.03%), RIL (1.29%), HUL (1.15%) and Maruti (1.08%) are the major losers in the 30-share index. Market breadth was positive with 1387 advances against 1675 declines on BSE.
Among the BSE sectoral indices Power index was the most prominent gainers today ended above 1% up, followed by CG and Realty. On the other hand Oil & Gas index was the major loser in the BSE sectoral indices to end 0.83% down.
On the broader Indices the BSE midcap ended higher by 16.36 points at 8158.62 and the small cap closed up by 0.38 points at 10280.95.
