The Indian rupee opened at 48.89 per dollar versus 48.96 yesterday.

Infosys was up 2.96% at $53.83,
Wipro was up 4.81% at $9.58

Tata Comm was up 4.51% at $7.65
MTNL was up 7.5% at $1.29.

Japan’s Nikkei added 1.98% or 170.54 points at 8,776.16.
Singapore’s Straits Times rose 1.90% or 50.70 points at 2,719.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
The US markets ended mixed after moving in a tight trading range, as investors focus on developments in the euro zone. The CBOE volatility index has finished below 33.
Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.15% or 16.88 points at 11416.3. Nasdaq Composite fell 0.66% or 16.98 points at 2583.03. Standard & Poor’s 500 slipped 0.05% or 0.65 points at 1195.54.

Asian markets were trading lower. China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.10% or 2.27 points at 2,346.24.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 0.73% or 132.11 points at 18,009.48.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
The US markets closed higher but lost steam in the final hour of trading after a report that European banks may shrink to meet higher reserve targets and news that real Chinese copper demand may be lower than initially thought.
Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.9% or 102.55 points at 11518.85. Nasdaq Composite added 0.84% or 21.7 points at 2604.73. Standard & Poor’s 500 rose 0.98% or 11.71 points at 1207.25

Asian markets were trading firm. China’s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,419.74.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.98% or 179.57 points at 18,509.03.
Japan’s Nikkei added 1.15% or 100.23 points at 8,839.13.
Singapore’s Straits Times was flat at 2,736.23.

The US markets came off their worst levels in a volatile session, but still closed mixed as investors remained cautious following JP Morgan earnings and a tepid Chinese economic report.
Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.35% or 40.72 points at 11478.13. Nasdaq Composite gained 0.6% or 15.51 points at 2620.24. Standard & Poor’s 500 was down 0.3% or 3.59 points at 1203.66.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
With one-third of the Dow components and crowd favorite, Apple, reporting results next week, US stocks are setting the stage for another week of gains.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 70.16 points, or 0.61%, to 11,548.29. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index added 9.88 points, or 0.82%, to 1,213.54. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 19.80 points, or 0.76%, to 2,640.03
CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA
Central Bank of India has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maruti Suzuki India for financing of Maruti Car. The bank has taken this initiative as a progressive and innovative Banker.
U.S. GOLD
U.S. gold GCcv1 also gained 0.3 percent to $1,673.50 an ounce in thin volume.
U.S. CRUDE
U.S. crude settled up $2.57 at $86.80 a barrel.
EURO
The euro reversed early minor losses and edged higher against the dollar, as investors remained confident European policymakers will be able to contain the debt crisis.
GLOBAL STOCK
Global stocks and the euro rallied on Friday over growing optimism that Europe is on track to resolve its festering sovereign debt crisis and after data showed a surprising surge in U.S. retail sales.

Asian markets were trading higher. China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.53% or 12.79 points at 2,444.16.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 1.94% or 358.83 points at 18,860.62.
Japan’s Nikkei added 1.53% or 133.46 points at 8,881.42.
Singapore’s Straits Times gained 0.75% or 20.49 points at 2,764.66.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite advanced 1.11% or 20.44 points at 1,855.84.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was up 0.78% or 57.56 points at 7,415.64.
U.S MARKET UPDATE
U.S. stocks scored their first back-to-back weekly gains since early July on Friday, on strong Google earnings and as investors kept riding the optimism for a solution to the euro zone’s debt crisis.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 166.36 points, or 1.45 percent, at 11,644.49. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was up 20.92 points, or 1.74 percent, at 1,224.58. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 47.61 points, or 1.82 percent, at 2,667.85.
U.S. GOLD
U.S. gold GCcv1 edged down 0.1 percent to $1,681.40
LME COPPER
Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange rose to $7,570 a tonne by 0104 GMT, after rising 3.2 percent in the previous session.
SHANGHAI COPPER
The most-active December copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange SCFc3 lifted 0.7 percent to 56,390 yuan ($8,840.64) per tonne, after rising 2.1 percent in the previous session.
ASIAN STOCK
Asian stocks and commodities firmed on hopes of a plan to resolve the euro zone’s debt woes, and the euro hovered near a one-month high.
U.S. STOCK
U.S. stocks scored their first back-to-back weekly gains since early July on Friday, on strong Google earnings and as investors kept riding the optimism for a solution to the euro zone’s debt crisis.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
The US markets closed near session lows following news that there won’t be a definitive solution to the euro zone’s debt crisis during the upcoming summit of European leaders, according to Germany’s finance minister. The CBOE volatility index jumped near 33.
Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 2.13% or 247.49 points at 11397. Nasdaq Composite shed 1.98% or 52.98 points at 2614.92. Standard & Poor’s 500 fell 1.94% or 23.72 points at 1200.86.
ASIAN MARKET UPDATE
Asian markets were trading weak.
China’s Shanghai Composite shed 0.73% or 17.89 points at 2,422.51.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng plunged 2.70% or 508.73 points at 18,365.26.

LME COPPER
Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange fell 1 percent to $7,417 a tonne by 0109 GMT, after dropping 0.7 percent in the previous session.
U.S. STOCK
U.S. stocks suffered their worst loss in two weeks on Monday after comments from Germany’s finance minister caused investors to fear Europe’s solution to its debt crisis may not come fast enough.
ASIAN STOCK
Asian stocks and commodities fell on Tuesday after Germany’s finance minister cautioned against hopes for a quick fix to Europe’s debt problem, reminding investors not to become too optimistic about a rapid development to the two-year-old crisis.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
The US markets closed higher but off their best levels as investors remain cautious over a report that France and Germany have agreed to increase European Union bailout fund.
Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 1.58% or 180.05 points at 11577.05. Nasdaq Composite rose 1.63% or 42.51 points at 2657.43. Standard & Poor’s 500 gained 2.04% or 24.52 points at 1225.38.
ASIAN STOCKS
Asian shares rose on Wednesday, but gains were capped by a cut to Spain’s sovereign credit rating from Moody’s Investors Service that kept investors’ risk appetite in check.
A rise in US stocks and a report that Europe will strengthen the region’s rescue fund helped improve sentiment, with spreads over a key Asian credit default swaps index narrowing several basis points.
U.S. STOCK
U.S. stocks surged late in trading on Tuesday as buyers latched onto another report of agreements to strengthen the euro zone’s rescue fund to bid up stocks aggressively.
