U.S. MARKET UPDATE
The US markets closed lower after a tepid Fed report on the economy and following news that talks to come up with a euro zone debt solution between France and Germany have stalled ahead of a key EU summit this weekend.
Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.63% or 72.43 points at 11504.62. Nasdaq Composite shed 2.01% or 53.29 points at 2604.04. Standard & Poor’s 500 slipped 1.26% or 15.5 points at 1209.88.
ASIAN MARKET UPDATE
Asian markets were trading lower.
China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.97% or 23.10 points at 2,354.41.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 1.44% or 263.11 points at 18,046.11.
Japan’s Nikkei slipped 0.86% or 75.08 points at 8,697.46.
Singapore’s Straits Times was down 0.25% or 6.83 points at 2,713.38.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite was down 0.17% or 3.22 points at 1,852.70.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted declined 0.58% or 42.39 points at 7,310.98.
INDIAN RUPEE UPDATE
The Indian rupee opened at 49.39 per dollar versus 49.15 yesterday.
ASIAN STOCK
Asian stocks fell on Thursday, as growing investor caution about taking risks ahead of a key European leaders’ summit at the weekend weighed on riskier assets across the board. The euro held steady.
U.S. STOCK
U.S. stocks fell on Wednesday as traders, after sitting on their hands for most of the day, jumped to sell in a hair-trigger reaction to fresh reports underscoring that Europe remains far from a solution to its debt crisis.
EUROPEAN STOCK
European stocks and the euro rallied as investors grew more optimistic that policymakers would take major steps at a summit this weekend to solve the debt crisis.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
The US markets closed mixed after a volatile session as traders sifted through a slew of headlines from the euro zone ahead of a key EU summit this weekend.
Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.32% or 37.16 points at 11541.78. Nasdaq Composite was down 0.21% or 5.42 points at 2598.62. Standard & Poor’s 500 was up 0.46% or 5.51 points at 1215.39.
ASIAN STOCK
Asian shares inched up while the euro clung to overnight gains on Friday, but markets largely stayed within range, as investors awaited a weekend meeting of European leaders for signs of progress in resolving the region’s debt crisis.
INDIAN RUPEE UPDATE
The Indian rupee opened at 50 per dollar versus 49.80 yesterday.
DOLLAR
The dollar fell to as low as around 0.8849 francs on trading platform EBS. After trimming some losses the dollar was down 0.8 percent at 0.8871.
U.S. STOCK
U.S. stocks ended with modest gains on Thursday, shifting back and forth on incremental developments in Europe where leaders sought to reassure investors that a solution to the debt crisis would come soon.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
The US stocks were up after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of US trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 2.31%, the S&P 500 index gained 1.88%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 1.29%.
INDIAN RUPEE UPDATE
The rupee crossed the 50 mark against the dollar yesterday.
Nifty Ends Around 5050
Yesterday was a disappointing session on Dalal Street. The Nifty lost 40 points and closed just below the 5,050 mark, at 5,049.95. The Sensex, on the other hand, lost 151 points and ended at 16,785.64.
After remaining choppy in the first half of the session, the markets took a late dive as disappointing earnings from the likes of Larsen and Toubro (L&T), JSW Steel and Idea dampened the sentiments.
DOLLAR
The U.S. dollar fell broadly on euro zone debt hopes and talk the Federal Reserve may take new measures to boost growth. The dollar last traded down 0.9 percent to 76.265
EUROPEAN STOCK
European stocks ended a roller-coaster week higher, and U.S. equity markets were aided by strong earnings reports from some corporate icons
GLOBAL STOCK
Global equities and the euro rallied on Friday as investors bet that European leaders in crucial meetings over the next few days will move forward in resolving the euro zone’s two-year-old debt crisis.

U.S MARKET UPDATE
US stocks rose in a broad rally to their highest levels since early August after a volatile week.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 267.01 points, or 2.31%, at 11,808.79. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was up 22.86 points, or 1.88%, at 1,238.25. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 38.84 points, or 1.49%, at 2,637.46.
ASIAN MARKET UPDATE
Asian markets were trading higher. China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.57% or 13.13 points at 2,330.40.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 3.13% or 563.82 points at 18,589.54.
Japan’s Nikkei added 1.38% or 119.92 points at 8,798.81.
Singapore’s Straits Times advanced 1.57% or 42.53 points at 2,754.94.

DOLLAR
The dollar, which broke below a tight range to reach an all-time low of 75.78 yen on Friday, was last at 76.22 yen , compared with 76.090 late in New York on Friday.
SHANGHAI COPPER
Base metals rose across the board, with Shanghai copperSCFc3 rising 4.5 percent to a high of 53,980 yuan ($8,455.51).
LME COPPER
Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange rose as much as 2.87 percent to a high of $7,350 a tonne, after rallying 6 percent on Friday in its largest one-day advance since early 2010.

The US markets came off their best levels, but still closed higher following a handful of M&A news, encouraging earnings and chatter of another possible round of quantitative easing from the Federal Reserve.
Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.89% or 104.83 points at 11913.62. Nasdaq Composite added 2.35% or 61.98 points at 2699.44. Standard & Poor’s 500 rose 1.29% or 15.94 points at 1254.19.

Asian markets were trading firm. China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.10% or 2.39 points at 2,367.94.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
US stocks surged 3% on Thursday as an agreement by European leaders to help contain the region’s two-year debt crisis lifted a cloud hovering over markets.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 339.51 points, or 2.86%, at 12,208.55. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was up 42.59 points, or 3.43%, at 1,284.59. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 87.96 points, or 3.32%, at 2,738.63.

Asian markets were trading higher. China’s Shanghai Composite rose 1.55% or 37.66 points at 2,473.27.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE
The US markets closed mixed on Friday, amid lot of volatility as data on consumer confidence and spending failed to boost equities a day after European leaders expanded the region’s bailout plan.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 22.56 points, or 0.18 percent, to 12,231.10. The Standard and Poor’s 500 closed higher by 0.50 points, or 0.04 percent, to 1,285.09, while the Nasdaq composite lost 1.48 points, or 0.05 percent, to 2,737.15.
DOLLAR
The dollar index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, was up 0.10% to 75.19.
U.S. STOCK
U.S. stocks ended mixed in quiet trading after rallying 3 percent the previous day, closing out a fourth week of gains.
