WNR - Western Refining, Inc. (NYSE Stock)

Ru gave me this pick last night and said it was under valued. He said he expected it to start moving and it has. I placed it in Ru's picks @ 8.63 this morning before the opening and it has now climbed to a high today of 9.46.

This is one of the hottest sectors in the market right now. Hopefully this will make a nice bounce.

Western Refining, Inc. (Western Refining) is an independent crude oil refiner and marketer of refined products and also operates service stations and convenience stores. The Company owns and operates four refineries with a total crude oil throughput capacity of approximately 234,000 barrels per day (bpd). As of February 22, 2008, Western Refining owns and operates 155 retail service stations and convenience stores in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico, a fleet of crude oil and finished product truck transports, and a wholesale petroleum products distributor, such as Western Refining Wholesale, Inc., which operates in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. I've been watching this as a pincher in the making. The problem has been no support in sight. Now it is approaching $6.50 and it should catch some there. Possible entry point for me. The Dow is looking very weak and that will keep me on my toes with ANY entries (except for bear plays), but WNR is certainly worth a radar from here on forward, IMO.

Soleil Securities upgrades Western Refining (NYSE: WNR) from Hold to Buy. Price target $10. Soleil analyst says, "Upgrade to Buy from Hold on a price basis as the stock is down 52% month-to-date (vs. a 25% average decline for the refiner peer group and a 3% drop in the S&P 500). Raising '09E to $1.35 from $1.10 due to an improvement in the Phoenix market and lower interest and maintenance expenses but no change '10E$1.00...The stock is currently trading at 3.9X09E EV/EBITDA vs. the peer group average of 4.9X and the historical trading range of 4-6X." Nice....thanks for the bump man! I'm in at 6.05, this puppy is at bottom IMO. If it doesn't turn out to be a short term play, it's a good long term bet.
