Centennial Communications Corp., through its subsidiaries, operates as a wireless and broadband telecommunications operator in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In the United States, the company provides digital wireless services under ?Centennial Wireless' brand name in two geographic clusters, covering approximately 8.6 million Net Pops, which includes the Midwest cluster that comprise parts of Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, and the Southeast cluster covering parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. It offers its services using TDMA and GSM technology that supports EDGE and GPRS data technology. It also provides wireless and wireline services in Puerto Rico under the name ?Centennial de Puerto Rico' and wireless services in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The company also provides broadband services under the name ?Centennial Business Solutions' in Puerto Rico that includes switched voice, private line services, voice over Internet protocol, international long distance, data, toll-free, and Internet-related services to businesses and residential customers. Its wireless services included postpaid and prepaid wireless services, and other value added services, such as voice mail, caller ID, call forwarding, call waiting, and conference calling. The company also offers various messaging services, including text, picture, and multimedia messaging, as well as access to Internet from the handsets and the ability to download games, ring tones, and other applications. In addition, Centennial sells various handsets and accessories employing GSM/CDMA/GPRS/EDGE technology. As of May 31, 2007, the company had 1,101,000 wireless subscribers. It also operated 129 retail outlets in the United States and 74 retail outlets in Puerto Rico. The company was founded in 1988. It was formerly known as Centennial Cellular Corp. and changed its name to Centennial Communications Corp. in 2000. Centennial is headquartered in Wall, New Jersey.
