I posted this one as Ru's pick this morning @ 2.57. I jumped in @ 2.62 for 1000 shares. Ru on the other hand bought in bigtime for 25k shares in the 2.60's.

I thought this needed its own thread so here we go........

As Uranium Prices Dip, Pro Investors Bet on a Nuclear-Fueled Rebound

The energy markets have been a source of concern for the past decade. Recently, however, those fears have increased as new price targets for crude oil move past $150, some even placing it closer to $200. This has propelled the demand for proven energy alternatives, such as nuclear energy. Unlike other alternative energy options that remain cost inefficient as compared to traditional energy sources, nuclear energy has been a practical energy alternative in many parts of the world.

Despite this bull case for nuclear energy, over the past year, uranium prices have collapsed over -50%, falling from over $130 to under $60 following shutdowns (for a variety of unrelated reasons) at nuclear plants around the world. This dip in demand has taken uranium stocks down as well. However, analysts continue to tout the long-term prospects for nuclear power, which would ignite more robust prices for uranium as demand surges.

With only a handful of U.S.-listed stocks offering exposure to uranium, Pro investor exposure to the sector is limited. Among the firms with larger positions is Schroder Investment Management Group, a London-based asset management giant with $259.6 billion under management. Schroder reported a 5.7 million-share stake in uranium and gold miner Cameco (NYSE: CCJ - News). Schroder also counted a number of other global commodity names among its top holdings, including Petrobras (NYSE: PBR - News, PBR-A - News) and Vale (NYSE: RIO - News). Uranium Resources, Inc. announced the closing of a negotiated private placement transaction with institutional investors for shares of its common stock. The sale raised $14,304,300. The net proceeds of the offering are for the acquisition, permitting, exploration and development of additional properties in Texas and for general corporate purposes. URI sold 3,295,920 shares of its common stock to a select group of institutional and accredited investors at a price of $4.34 per share which represented a 10% discount to the last sale price on May 13, 2008; and warrants to purchase 988,771 additional shares of common stock, at a price of $5.78, which represented a 20% premium to the last sale price of the Company's common stock on May 13, 2008. These warrants expire 60 months after issuance and are exercisable immediately. Oppenheimer & Co. acted as placement agent for Uranium Resources on this transaction.

I knew nothing about this company or stock but bought on his recommendation.
He has been watching the stock for several days but didn't want to buy until it bottomed and started back up. I'm just along for the ride and hopefully its northward...

If we can get a close of 2.90 or higher I think we are golden. We have a bullish crossover taking place and radars will be screaming.

This one is solid today. Has already hit 3.28 and retraced to 3.04- Missed an entry point at 2.75 and got cold feet Now I am watching for another dip to jump in at

Indeed....that's why I bought....TA play in the making. The company performance is kind of crappy but they are in an important field.

Me too...... If Ru has a 2.65 average he is up 20,000.00 today alone

I bought a measley 1000 but at least its green
