Fact Sheet From Website
Gushan Environmental Energy Limited
Leading the Way in Biodiesel Energy in China
Gushan Environmental Energy Limited (Gushan) is the largest biodiesel producer in China as measured by annual production capacity. We believe we were one of the pioneers in commercial biodiesel production in China when we started operation in 2001.
Our business has grown substantially, with our aggregate annual biodiesel production capacity increasing from 10,000 tons in 2001 to 290,000 tons as of July 3, 2008.
Our products are biodiesel and the by-products of biodiesel production, including glycerine, plant asphalt, erucic acid and erucic amide. Biodiesel is a renewable, clean-burning and biodegradable fuel produced from a variety of feed stocks, such as vegetable oil, animal fat and recycled cooking oil. Biodiesel is used to fuel a wide range of diesel engines, including diesel engines found in trucks, mass transit vehicles, marine vessels and generators, while its by-products have numerous commercial applications in food, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries.
At Gushan, technological innovations and improvements to manufacturing methods and processes are pursued rigorously, which has contributed significantly to our leading position in the biodiesel industry in China.
We currently operate five production facilities, located in Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan, Hebei and Fujian in China. We target to increase our annual biodiesel production capacity to 400,000 tons by the end of 2008 by completing the construction of our new production facilities in Hunan and Chongqing and expanding capacity at our Beijing plant.

Market Opportunity:
China’s economic growth for the past three decades has been accompanied by a substantial increase in domestic energy consumption, primarily supported by fossil fuels. Given the rapid growth of diesel consumption and the resulting environmental degradation, demand for renewable, clean-burning and biodegradable alternatives to diesel is expected to grow in the foreseeable future.
With PRC law and government policies encouraging the development and utilization of renewable energy resources, the consumption of biodiesel in China is estimated to reach two million tons by 2020, and the proportion of renewable energy consumption is expected to reach approximately 15% of China’s total energy consumption by 2020, from approximately 7.5% in 2005.
We will continue to benefit from the increase in demand for, and consumption of, biodiesel in China. We intend to stay as a leading player in the alternative energy industry.
Our strengths:
We believe that our growth and leading market position are attributable to:
* Largest biodiesel producer in China, as measured by annual production capacity, with early-mover advantage;
* Efficient proprietary production technology;
* Reliable supplier network for low cost raw materials;
* Rigorous quality control standards;
* Strong execution capabilities; and
* Experienced management and operations teams with local market knowledge.
