Gold Bug
Gold just can't stay down at these levels. I'm surprized the rally has not happened, but the dollar has been doing well. Anyone else getting the gold bug? I'm watching it so closely my eyes are red. This is one rally I don't want to miss. I still believe we'll eventually see a gold rally that will set a new high. I'm predicting gold at $1500-1600 and oz at some point.
Any other gold lovers out there?

Re: Gold Bug
Doing some Sunday night scanning. Noticing a lot of gold and other precious metal stocks are extremely bullish. Hurricane reaction on friday, the economy, or is the precious metal markets just turning bullish?

Good idea....if you can find bullion or coins. I'm a coin collector, so I try to buy gold coins whenever we see these dips. The problem is, at these prices, not many people are selling. My local coin shop I deal with is not selling ANY gold at all.

Re: Gold Bug
Hello “Goldman” BadThad….
As you know I am not a gold fanatic but when the market demand it I get in with few options…
IMO this time to pay off the “700$” I think we will see a devaluation of the $ etc…
Therefore what is the best tangible asset that thrive away when the dollar is going down and inflation is rising….IMO Gold is one of them….. just my opinion DYOR + DD
you should do wander... you already are loaded on coins etc....

Gold is a great in/out tool every investor should use. I still believe everyone should have at least a small position in gold at all times.
As far as coins....they are a solid investment. I have yet to lose money on coin investing. They don't always appreciate quickly....which depends on several factors....but they don't lose value either. Buying gold or silver coins on the metals dip is one of the best and safest investments a person can make IMO.

Re: Gold Bug
Brought over from my thread:
Gold and Silver.
Ordinarily, I dont advocate holding the actual metal. I usually hold metals futures or producers stocks and let others worry with the physical metals.
I think it is time to re-think that strategy. Every major economy in the world is printing paper money as fast as they can, and throwing fiat currency at the credit problem. That tack is obviously not having its desired effect, it may help over time, but in the short term it is no more than pizzing in the wind. As the deflationary effects of freewheeling currency printing begin to take root I expect that many countries will begin to radically step up their metals reserves. This will further tighten the supply, an already strained market due to China and India over the last few years.
With this decrease in global supply and the coming need for central banks to have something besides "full faith and credit" in its coffers, gold and silver may finally experience that long awaited trip to the moon.
Mining stocks may well be seen as inferior to in hand capital holdings, but I may go ahead and hedge a tad on that side, all the while praying the producers arent nationalized for the specie futures themselves.
Just another toast burnin' rant, probably fueled by way to much homemade ethanol.
Good Luck

LOLOLOLOL
I stand by my last post, coins are a great, great investment....it doesn't get any safer IMO. Silver is very low right now at ~$11/oz, so even if you don't have much money, you can afford to at least buy a little silver coinage or even bullion. I generally prefer coinage over bullion due to the added numismatic premium.

Re: Gold Bug
Gold will boom....once we're though the turmoil of global recession, inflation is going to dominate. Gold cannot continue it's downward slide forever, history shows this.
I'm still HUGE on buying gold and gold ETF's now. I see gold well above $1000 once inflation rears its ugly head. ETF's like IAU are trading at $73 now, I see them near $200 in a year or two.
