US markets were dull
On Friday markets in the US fell after bad earnings reports from companies. Richard Sichel, chief investment officer at Philadelphia Trust Co. in Philadelphia, said: "Given that the market has moved up so far, investors are looking for more demand. The earnings get more difficult to beat when it needs to come from sales, rather than just cost cutting.”
Dow Jones lost 23.73 points at 9,972.18. The S&P 500 index fell 0.7 percent at 1,079.60, while Nasdaq fell 10.82 points at 2,154.47.
