4 years. It is going to be a long 4 years. Unemployment will be 8-9% within a year or two of Obamanomics and there is a good chance it will hit double digits (it is already 8% in my state, Michigan, under Jennifer Granholm's (D) second term, and our two Senators, Carl Levin (D), and Debbie Stabenow (D), It is going to be rough for a lot of families. He can send out a $2,500 stimulus check, it still won't be enough to weather the storm he will create!!!
But, it will be Bushes fault!

Well, Obama is inheriting these problems. Some of the problems have been festering for decades and no matter which party was in power over the last decades, neither has really done a particularly wonderful job of solving past problems or preventing future problems.

For example, we had an energy/oil crisis in the 70's and did we really prevent it from happening again? Nope, not at all. As a country, we did not learn from our past mistakes Both parties were in power since the 70's energy crisis and neither did squat to prevent it from happening again, LoL! Our two party system is designed to clash and this results in many things not being solved and accomplished. Both parties want things done 'their way' because 'their way is always the best and correct way', lots of laughs.

So what will the future hold? Either Obama will do better than his predecessors of the last few decades or he won't. Basically the US will survive however well or poorly he does. I can say one thing though: I would Never want to have become President and have to inherit all the problems Obama has by winning the election.

I think that Obama's success or failure lies directly with the staff he picks and the advice he gets from those he has around him for advisers (as with any new President). If he makes wise choices, he might come out smelling like a rose and actually accomplish some great things. If he chooses poorly, he'll be just another foot-note in history. His success also depends greatly on how the Repubs get along with his trying to solve things. If Obama puts good ideas before Congress, will the Repubs seriously have the country's best interest at heart and vote for good Bills, or will they try to keep anything and everything from being passed? No matter how bad or good a Bill is?

A question: Is it fair to judge how well Obama does, over a 4 year period, when the problems he is asked to solve have been in the making for well over 4 years?

It will be an interesting 4 or maybe even 8 years, that's for sure.

Flogged? Thanks for the warning Weatherdude.

By the way, did anyone notice that I'm not thrilled with either the Demos or Repubs?

My 2 cents on this is this link.

Op-Chart - Bulls, Bears, Donkeys and Elephants - Interactive Graphic - NYTimes.com

After seeing that, I have to ask myself--is it really that bad when dems hold office?

But I do think he should go back to his old hairstyle:

If Obama can double the DJIA to 16,000 points in 4 years, I will even go as far as hanging this painting in my room:
LoL Well, you never know. Not sure if we can or will go much farther down than we have, so going up does seem like a good possibility, hopefully.

Might want to start googling for some matching place mats for the dinner table and some nice Obama pictured bath towels too.
