Default North Alabama Flooding

Check out this video of flooding in the small city where I live. The spill way that is shown normally has only a trickle of water coming out if there is any at all. The small creek that now looks like a huge river is usually barely flowing and the trees sticking out of the water are never in the water. These trees sit about 15 or 20 feet higher than the normal creek level.

The lake is our water supply and before this weeks rain it was still below a full pool.

The heavy rain started Monday 1-05-09 and continued until Wed. morning 1-07-09. Some places in Cullman measured about 10 inches of rain. I had over 6 inches of rain at my house. We have more rain coming in tomorrow and then into the deep freeze next week with a chance of snow or freezing rain

The lake I live on was low but it did come up enough to overtake two roads. My house sits up a little hill so if it floods you will see an ark...

Thanks for asking but things here are great and my boat dock is floating again.
