Default SCOX - SCO Group Inc

Watch this one, it's been moving. I remember something about how they were in bankruptcy but I haven't really investigated. They have been having some wild swings lately, so it might be a good one to daytrade...

Not sure how much you guys know about this company.. I'm in the tech industry so I know a lot about them.. most of which I wish I didn't.

They're basically a law firm that bought the rights to the old SCO Unix operating system. SCO Unix hasn't been updated in decades, but they did have a few IP patents on some core OS technology. The lawyer group bought the rights, and then started suing everyone from Microsoft to Red Hat Linux over the rights. They've been repeatedly smacked down in court for failing to produce evidence.

If you want to play it like a pinkie go ahead, but they don't ever plan to produce anything but lawsuits.

I'm glad someone posted the true nature of this company. I saw the thread yesterday and have such distain for them them I didn't even read it until today... There is probably no more hated "company" in the industry. While there may be some money to be made off of these slugs, I'm going to stay as far away as possible because of their business ethics, or lack of.

Wow, I wasn't aware that the technology company was bought out by a bunch of lawyers, lol. Nothing good can come of that. I guess that explains why it's down 7 cents today!

Haven't looked at this one for some time. Just saw it and the charts show a rather steady uptrend in the past 5 days and it exploded today, up 24%. Don't really know what happened??? Any ideas?

CORRECT: Sco Group to request listing hearing with Nasdaq
By Carla Mozee
Last Update: 4:46 PM ET Sep 20, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Sco Group Inc. (SCOX0.18, -0.02, -8.5%) said Wednesday evening it has received a notice from Nasdaq that its shares are not in compliance with the exchange's listing rules. The notice follows the company's filing last week for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Sco, which provides Unix-based software to run server computers, said it plans to request a hearing before a Nasdaq panel, which will stay a Sept. 27 suspension of the shares. Sco said it cannot provide assurance that the panel will grant its request for continued listing. (Corrects company description.) End of Story
