"This is an important milestone in the history on online journalism" said Bluffington. "The New York Slimes has a long future ahead of it, and we look forward to the challenge of making this company great again, without the burden of newsprint." Final job cuts for the group have yet to be finalized, but Bluffington assured any employee laid off that they would be welcomed warmly if they applied for unpaid blogging positions at either the NYSlimes.com or BluffingtonPost.com sites.

This was an April Fool's joke. What is funnier is that it is the first news item that Google Finance has posted for the NYT as if it is real.
