Day trading pattern

I currently have a zecco account with $4,000 in it. I have the urge to buy a stock and sale it the same day. I have read up on the 25000 amount in order to day trade. I read forum on different interperation on the day trading pattern. I would like to know If i can day trade once a week without getting tag as a day trader?

No you would not be considered a day trader if you traded once a week. Just don't trade the same stock in the same day(IE buy and sell the stock) and you will be ok.

Been there on the daytrading rule

First you need to have a margin account so you trade without waiting for trades to settle. You don't need to use the margin but it allows you to hold overnight and sell as many times as you want.

The actual day trading rule is a little confusing. You can only make 3 day trades in any 5 trading trading days. If you trade for the fourth time your account will be flagged as a Pattern Day Trader.

Of course, you will not run into any classifications but check with the specifics’ rules with your broker account on transactions etc.
