European markets edged down
European Markets edged down yesterday. Equities in Europe fell in a thin trade as the banking sector and the drugmakers were down.
Joost van Leenders, an investment specialist at Fortis Investments said: "For the early part of next year, we are cautiously optimistic. The economic recovery is discounted within the markets but further gains in corporate profit may help the markets somewhat further higher. We would not say the market is overvalued at this point."
Germany's DAX was down 0.9 percent and France's CAC 40 down by 0.6 percent.
The FTSE 100 was was down 0.7 percent.
