On the longer term charts if you see a nice rounded top or bottom it is a safe bet to beleive that it is going to change direction.
Rounded bottoms are sometimes called Saucers.
All of these patterns indicate that the trend is running out of steam and the market is looking to test higher/lower ground once again.
With experience you will notice these pattern with ease. The white line indicates the rounded portion of the chart.
