Default For Those Losing Their @$$ In The Market

Join the crowd...lol.

No in all seriousness. If you read the forums and especially those that lean more towards pumping you have probably came to the conclusion that you are the worlds worst trader and that everyone is making money except you. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We all take our whipping from time to time and thats just part of the game. The reason you feel like you are the only one losing is the simple fact that most forums are filled with lies. Nobody wants to be viewed as a loser so they either lie about their gains or rarely post that they lost on a trade.

If you are like me and read some of the other forums you would swear you are the only one that isn't playing with mega bucks. You see the post where they bought 50,000.00 worth of a stock and sold it for a quick 100,000.00 profit but take those with a grain of salt and some hard liquer...lol.

Last year I had taken my account and made some great money. There were several days I made a normal weeks salary or more from a couple of trades. Life was great and the market was great. Soon came the fall as I bought and sold some terrible plays which made me play riskier plays to try and quickly earn back the lost money. To make a long story short I decided to take a nice break and regain my confidence as well as focus more on my real job and family. It has done wonders for me and I'm ready to face this monster again.

I say all that to say this. We here at SMC are all in this fight together and you won't see the outlandish wins you see on other forums but you will see the truth win or lose. Lets all continue the fight together and build upon this great site that the CATS have built.

Sorry for the absence but I'm now ready to roll

Well put!

I think a lot of people can relate to this post. I have had some huge ups and downs from august until the end of '09. Nothing great comes easy. Its all about picking yourself back up and accomplishing what you initially set out to do. Its true in the stock market and its true in life. There arent any winners out there that are quitters, great to have you back Aufan! You have been missed.

I agree---I feel like Aufan and I must have been sailing in the same boat last year. I made great gains all year and then in October the whole thing went south on me and by the end of the year I had lost the whole years gains with bad decisions and timing issues on flips. I stepped back and re-grouped until now and am ready to take the beast on again. I hope to get more active on the forum and start to post trades again.
Sorry for the absence-but I needed to refresh my outlook and realize that the mistakes are correctable and it's not the trader in me-it's the market that turns on you. You just can't win every trade and I needed to realize that small losses are much better than holding on to hope-that's how you lose. Take the little loss and fight again another day. I held too long and almost got wiped out instead.

BUT I AM BACK NOW AND READY -- LET'S KICK SOME BUTT SMC

Welcome back Aufan. I am also just getting warmed up. Actually just opened a new account myself at OPTIONS HOUSE. They have nice commissions. $2.95 flat rate per trade. This way when you buy a stock you only have to make $6 to be break even. So, for example, you buy 1000 shares at $1.00 and you can sell at $1.01 for profit:

1000 shares @ $1.00 = $1,000
1000 shares @ $1.01 = $1,010
$10 gain - $6 commissions = $4 profit

And that's just off of 1 penny gain. With Scottrade and Etrade and all the others commission puts you back too far on the first trade. You're already losing as soon as you buy. Nice to be able to sell at 1 penny higher and still make money, lol.

I am in the process of funding the account and it should be ready by next Monday.

Regarding trading. I did well besides a few bad trades. But what killed my account was starting options trading with real money. Lost a lot.

Still think options is the way to go instead of penny stocks. I can't stress enough how much they suck. I've only touched a stock under 60 cents on a handful of occasions. And that was only under Ru's recommendation.

Pink sheets, OTC, less than 15 cents are not for me!!! I despise them. Full of schemes, no volume, no company. Can you imagine if you owned a company and got listed on an exchange and you were trading at 5 cents a share. That means your company sucks. Imagine if Google, Microsoft, Apple, Goldman Sachs, etc., were trading at 1 cent, or 2 cents/share. It would be appalling as penny stocks are to me. If I'm gonna lose money I'd rather do it on a solid company with market cap over 50 million, volume over 800,000, listed on a major exchange, etc.

Ok, done ranting about how much I hate sub-penny and penny stocks. Not sure why in the world they seem to be so popular. Anyways, I found an old board (no longer in use) that describes these types of stocks to a T. Here it is:

Quote:
The POS Board.
The name is self-explanatory. If you think that POS is an actual ticker you are in the wrong place...leave now! lol.

If you are unaware what POS stands for...try POD, as in "Piece Of Dung"...now be creative. The purpose of this board is to post picks and info on POS stocks that may make good short term plays. (We all know there are NO long term POS plays!)

With the recent runs by QBID, PCBM, GFYF, GWDL, etc...this board was inevitable. Before posting stocks on this thread, please ask yourself the following 10 questions:

1) Is my company incorporated in Las Vegas?

2) Is my stock a dilluted pig?

3) Is my company run out of a trailer home in Arkansas or are the headquarters a PO BOX?

4) Is my stock capable of wacky, unfounded gains as well as eternal, spiraling down-trends?

5) Has my company issued an S-8 in the past 12 months? (if NO...please leave now.)

6) Does my company sell TorsoTigers or convert pig poop to energy?

7) Is my company a "development stage" nanotech or homeland security start-up yet has a CEO with a degree in Origami from Warsaw University?

8) Is there a Blagman sitting on my company's BOD?

9) Has my company had a R/S (or two, or three, etc.) recently?

10) Does my stock have a bid? If NO...welcome CMKX shareholders!

If you answered YES to any of the above questions...then WELCOME to The POS Board!!!

With that being said...talk amongst yourselves...and LET'S SEE THOSE POS PICKS!!!!

Nicely put. There will be times when one will experience the downside of the business. It will be hard and painful. But it will also bring experience that may prove useful in the future.

Good luck!

At some point I'd say we all have made bad decisions and had our A$$ handed to us, its part of the business and gives us a chance to review the mistakes we made and regroup. A fool and his money soon part my friends, as traders we are working with others that have the upper hand and the tools to take us out in a flash. Study your moves and choose your plays wisely.
