SMTX - SMTC Corp.
Came across this stock while looking thru info on eTrade today.
SMTC Corp. (SMTX, Trade ) has been recently achieving 52-week highs and currently trades slightly below that level. The share price of SMTX grew by 40% over the past four weeks, which is the highest four-week growth record currently under this Profit Track. In mid-May, the company reported first-quarter results, stating that its quarterly performance reflects continuing solid execution of its growth strategy premised on improving its customers' cost competitiveness by providing high quality manufacturing and outstanding service responsiveness.
Took a look at the charts and they look solid. RSI shows little oversold, MACD has nice upside trend, CCI may be starting to head back towards +100 and the DMI is also showing uptrend continuing.
Is this a fair analysis of this info? I am pretty new to the game and trying to learn by watching and studying.
Any input appreciated

I only looked at the chart, fz and I just wanted to correct your statement on the RSI. It is very much overbought at this point, not a little oversold. You are dead on that this chart is very solid, but I gotta believe that some kind of consolidation is in its near future. Good pick, especially if you've been in for any length of time.

Re: Smtx
Thanks for the correction on the info. Glad to hear that my eyes saw it fairly correctly. I do not have a position on this one at this time-money tied in a handful of other stocks at this time. Put most of my free cash into TDCP and wish I had a little more right now - but anyway, thanks again and I will keep an eye on this one over the next couple weeks.

Re: SMTX - SMTC Corp.
this down market, recession rumors, slow econmic growth is killing this stock imo..
so many great buys, this being one of them.
no idea why the stock is down so much, the third quarter results didn't seem too bad. fourth quarter results might be better but not like last year.
"For the fourth quarter, we expect to substantially increase sequential revenue, although we are unlikely to attain the record level in the fourth quarter of 2006. We also expect to return to satisfactory margin and profitability levels", stated John Caldwell.
man i hope he's right soon, i'm waiting forever now for anything good to happen with this "investment". i emailed Jane Todd
Senior Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer
maybe i'll get a response of something uplifting in the near future. i'll post here.
also, there has been some sec filings this year, but i don't quite understand them..
http://sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?...clude&count=40
checked the insider transactions of last year, lots of selling going on

Re: SMTX - SMTC Corp.
SMTX screaming that is going to make a move up. However, one would have to be careful of a double top. Watch for the breakout.
