Hello!
I found this place through Thad, we both share an interest in coins on another board.
I started trading in 1997 from interest in watching CNBC while I was working nights and the only thing on TV during the day was CNBC. Back when IPO's were the big news and dot com companies were gaining coverage.
I started reading Raging Bull, Silicon Investor and Yahoo boards. I educated myself in trading and started off with 5k. Lost that within a few months and got another 5k. I got involved pretty heavily in the boards and learned to do my own DD, learned the tricks of the trade, could read charts and was good at digging up dirt on stocks.
I gave up on big board stocks and moved to the pennies! That is where the fun began. I, along with a couple other investors (one of which owns a couple popular stock boards and I am a founding father of one) started doing DD on various stocks, one of which we hit it big- ECNC. We were buying boat loads at .06-.10 and watched it hit a high of $29.
After that run and about the time you could buy anything and it would go up(once bought a stock that made trees grow

) we started finding stocks with potential(or at least believable). We would go onto the boards and beat them up pretty bad, driving the stock down to good buy-in levels. Some worked out, some didn't.
After the smoke cleared from the dot com burst, stacks of worthless stock and dabbling in large caps I have been on sabbatical from trading. I did jump on the bird flew vaccine for a short time, got in early and did pretty good.
I am an electrical contractor who is about to hit his slow time of year and am looking to get back into the swing of things. I do not give advise anymore, there is nothing worse than getting emails from people who followed your advise on a dog and are wondering how they are going to send their kids to college after they lost it all on some penny stock. I mostly read different boards now and have a few favorites that have paid off well in the past.
With the current situation going on with stocks, this looks to be a good time to ride some waves, let the fun begin!!!
Happy Trading,
Chris B
