Default Placing a GTC (Good till cancle) order after market is closed?

I was just wondering. I wasnted to place a limit order to buy a stock for Monday morning's open. I was wondering if I could place a gtc order now (it is saturday) or if I had to wait untill the market opened?

Best thing is to wait until the market opens. Placing an order while the market is closed is the equivalent of showing your hand to the dealer in a card game. Good luck!

Indeed! Never place an order until you have a chance to see what the market's doing.
